I had work done in 2003, a basement retanking and pump system was installed at a cost of £7k. It was installed with a 10 year gaurantee. The work quality was questionable, it failed this summer. Abbey Woodcare refused to repare it under the gaurentee. They said the whole job would need to be redone and quoted £9k to do so. I talked to 3 other specialists in this area all said a repair was possible for £1500 and that the job did not need redone. I went with Oaks Dampproofing of Wimbledon instead to fix the problem. They seem much more thorough and honest. I would recomend them instead.

I didn't actually get Abbey Woodcare to resolve my damp issues, as their initial survey failed to find the huge and rather obvious, but in a cupboard, area of damp. They instead identified a load of damp in the opposite end of the building that barely sits above the damp proof course. Just not convinced by a less than thorough survey and dubious results.
