Top Tips

  • The most popular tile sold is the 4¼” square wall tile, however current trends are leaning towards larger tiles which can create a more professional end result. The larger a tile is, however, the harder it is to lay perfectly as very flat walls or floors are needed. You may require more adhesive with which to level out uneven walls.
  • As water expands when it freezes, porous or unglazed tiles can become cracked if they undergo frost. When considering tiles for external use, always use water-resistant tiles as this will also ensure they are frost resistant too.
  • Just like tiles, grout also offers different levels of water absorption. When grouting tiles for a wet area, such as a bathroom or kitchen, use a rubber-like grout with a silicone or polyurethane base.
